What is one of the most important things in your life, I query ?
Surely the answer to this question will very often vary.
But, should you ask me: now and forever let it be said :
to this ninety eight year old positively it is my bed.
Research finds that Babylonian kings rested on ivory and gold,
the Greeks regarded their bedrooms as sacred, so I am told.
Who invented the first bed, the dictionary does not say,
to this genius, I am willing to doff my hat just any day.
Beds of grass are in my vision, but so are feathers and springs.
Very early this contraption was the privilege of many kings .
There was one in old England that held 24 people, believe it or not.
Hopefully you will trust me when I state room for one is all I got.
No matter what a fine day I had, this piece of luxury beckons to me.
Let me tell you: it is adjustable and I can read in comfort, you see.
This piece of luxury is one that I would hate to do without:
feathered springs and downy covers- that is what this is all about !
