The time has come to put heat on in California-forsooth !
Never did we think it would happen that is the very truth.
Spoiled by years of warm weather it is not easily taken-
when the skies are gray in this paradise-you feel forsaken.
Yet, nothing stands still in the world, we are exposed to change,
things may be smooth-then disaster comes into our range.
Never a day without a report of a dire change in the weather,
somewhere storm clouds are certain to continually gather.
To prepare for such storms is always in the back of our mind ,
should we be exposed to them, it leaves us in a big bind.
Now they predict a big earthquake in the next 28 years,
they say it might happen to-morrow-no telling when it appears.
But we are only human and as such have cause to worry-
no matter when it happens, we shall be either safe or sorry.
Come what may, there will be a quiet day or stormy night-
all we can do is hope that our own future will be bright !
