LOOKING AT THE PAST

The upper shelf of my wardrobe boasts an array of albums galore. Both photos and scrapbooks preserve memories forevermore. Ready to discard the proofs of a life long lived, but now of little use- my dear Daughter insisted I keep them - and that's the very truth ! Now, that the cold winter months have come to stay much inside, the notion has come to me that past times I now could invite. The faces of long gone relatives and friends entered my mind, as well as documents of achievements, I unexpectedly did find. Proof of trips taken, parties attended, shared with my beloved mate proved that to reminisce and to be grateful : it is never too late. A special treasure, cards my dear daughter never failed to send, from early on she penned congratulations, much joy to the day they lent. Now, I am glad that they were kept, proof of a now long gone past, they confirm that I can be grateful at the way my die was cast. To look back at a life well spent and to have the actual proof should give my dear ones good feelings when it is time to move ! November 2010, Otto Ross
