M Y L A S T D O M I C I L E / Morning routine

I shall report about my nightly activities later on, but I think it is proper to begin
at the beginning.
Very seldom do I oversleep so that usually at 7 AM I am ready for my best meal
of the day, my breakfast. However, it is preceded by opening the door to retrieve
my daily L.A. Times which arrives about a quarter of an hour before and, so far,
has never failed.
Breakfast is preceded by taking the first of my two daily soy pills (which are so big
that I have to mash them in a gadget for that purpose) this goes to the bottom of
a big plate  (the last one of its kind). This will followed by taking my blessed only
daily medicine (lucky me):  a very small chewable aspirin pill and a larger chewable
vitamin which my good doctor approved when I showed it to him. Then comes the
food :  a  good part of a banana sliced (the rest is saved for lunch) a nice helping of
blueberries and, of course, my favorite fruit : sliced fresh strawberries. All this is
covered by my favorite breakfast cereal: Honeybunches of Oats. Doused with
regular milk and I am ready for this so forward looked to meal. It is accompanied
by reading the headlines of the paper only (the rest is for lunch) and never missed
will be the daily picture puzzle which I just love and usually can solve with gusto.
The answer does not come until the next morning, so I better !
Breakfast is not over by a long shot. Here comes a small roll out of the toaster
and my favorite drink daily for so many years-the wonderful sweet Swiss (Ovaltine)
Chocolate Drink which I so enjoyed in my youth in Germany and which I blame
for my longevity ! Cream cheese and strawberry jam covers the roll and I can feast !
Now, I am privileged at my advanced age to return to my good bed at 8 AM.
(after I make my daily call to my good neighbor to assure each other of our well-being.
This is the time to luxuriously solve the daily crossword puzzle in the Times which
provides me with the necessary brain exercise. Sunday to Wednesday is great
but Thursday, Friday and Saturday I  beg off-too many personages I do not know.
However on Thursday AM comes the daily  LW paper with a puzzle that is not
too difficult and has the solution on another page. The other two days I have a puzzle
book ready. So it is all covered.
Usually my day begins at 10 AM (after snoozing another hour or so). I love
my cozy bathroom which provides me with some heat when needed and it feels
good when I come out of the shower. I take my alarm which later hangs around my neck,
to the shower with me and hope I shall not need it there-but just in case. I shall not
bother my readers with my daily ablutions, yet let it be said that I come out clean
and ready to face another day.
